Merrilands

Merrilands is a substantial alterations and additions project to a heritage dwelling in suburban Melbourne. Retaining the carefully preserved front portion of the original brick and tile house, the design weaves strands of traditional and contemporary in its spatial arrangements and aesthetic gestures. Interior details significantly increase light to the open plan living spaces. With the first floor addition split across the main dwelling and the rebuilt garage, a new typology is created.
