What is Xenolith? The Premium Surface Solution for Kitchens and Wet Areas

What is Xenolith? The Premium Surface Solution for Kitchens and Wet Areas
If you’re working on a project that needs to perform under pressure from moisture, wear, and constant use look no further than Xenolith, polytec’s premium stone look surface.

It’s a solid-core panel, specifically designed for wet areas and high-traffic environments where durability and hygiene are essential.

Understanding Compact Laminate

Compact laminate, sometimes called solid laminate or wet area laminate, is made by compressing multiple layers of kraft paper soaked in resin. These layers are pressed under extreme heat and pressure to create a dense, solid panel without a chipboard or MDF core. Unlike standard laminated boards, compact laminate doesn’t require edging, as it’s solid right through.

What is Xenolith made from?

Xenolith uses this same compact laminate structure, built from layers of resin-infused paper to form a moisture-resistant, impact-resistant, and self-supporting surface. Because of its homogeneous solid core, it’s perfect for exposed edges, heavy use, and areas prone to spills, humidity, or steam.

Where can you use Xenolith?

Xenolith is versatile, making it suitable for:

Kitchen benchtops and island surfaces

Bathroom vanities and laundry counters

Splashbacks in wet or humid areas

Wall linings and cubicle partitioning

Commercial surfaces including retail counters, café table tops and service areas

Healthcare and education facilities vertical and horizontal surfaces where hygiene is key
